The Mildura Best Start Program aims to provide the best start in life for all children aged 0-8 years in the Mildura Rural City Council by strengthening the access and usage of universal services for children and their parents/carers.
The Best Start Program provide a number of great programs and products for young families in Mildura including being the organising partner of Mildura Little Day Out (October) and produce the Early Years Directory (yearly) which can be downloaded at http://www.mildura.vic.gov.au/Children_Youth

Council delivers several Supported Playgroups using the smalltalk model. The program is funded by the State Government's Department of Education and Training (DET) and the model was developed by the Parenting Research Centre (PRC). Sessions are run in different locations within the municipality and require a referral. For more information on eligibility, locations, times and days of these sessions please contact the facilitators at Council.

The Sunraysia Bushwalkers Inc is a Club that is an affiliate member of Bushwalking Victoria (formerly Federation of Victorian Walking Clubs). The Club was founded in 1977 and is based in Mildura in the Mallee region of north west Victoria. The Club has approximately 20 members.
The main aim of the Club is to enjoy all forms of outdoor activity with a group of like-minded folk. Visitors are most welcome to join in activities and attend meetings.
The members meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 8.00pm at the Clubroom.
Every month the Club aims to conduct a day activity and a weekend activity. The main activity is walking but the Club also offers canoeing, cycling, climbing, occasional sailing and any other outdoor activity that takes the members' fancy. You can contact the club at enquiries@sunbushwalk.net.au.
